Another 24 miles today!!!
This morning we headed off in the wind and rain... initially it really didn't seem like a very good idea as we were getting soaked and could barely see though our glasses but then the rain eased off and the wind died down a bit as we headed into Castle Ashby.
Wendy at The Buttery, very kindly opened up early for us and made a much needed pot of tea - what a star!!! Then we headed across to The Country House Fine Foods & Catering shop and they too opened up a little early to allow us to buy some supplies... Best of all both places offered to take one of our Sponsorship tins :-)
Once we'd loaded the bikes again, we headed off through the lovely gardens of the Castle before heading off to Earls Barton, Great Doddington, Wellingborough and home!!!

Hi all
Today we set off on a different route due to a slight miscalculation... We headed off through Farndish, Hinwich, Poddington and Wymington as planned then crossed the A6 and headed off towards Chelvesten (all part of the plan)...
Then we took a wrong turn and travelled through Yelden and then onwards through Melchbourne (pictured below - I didn't take any pics today but found this one on the web and decided to use it), Knotting and Knotting Green. All in all it wasn't a bad route and was even nicer as we'd never travelled along this bit before...
After Knotting Green we headed up a long windy road that took us out onto the A6 at Souldrop and then it was a hairy drive back into Rushden and back towards Irchester.
BUT by far the best thing about today was the fact that we beat our own record for doing 20 miles by 13 minutes!!!
23 miles in total - yipppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Somehow we went VERY wrong and managed to end up in between 4 lakes in a boggy, marshy, VERY muddy jungle...

Well, after so long with no pics - here's a pic that I took earlier this evening on our rainy Friday evening cycling... Note none of us just a horse and it's mum...
Nice ride despite the rain...
Well, this weekend we were pretty pleased with our cycling accomplishments - we managed a pretty impressive 43.5 miles in all which isn't too shabby.
On Saturday (28th June), we cycled 23.5 miles across three counties (Northants, Bucks and Beds) and then today (Sunday - 29th June) we cycled another 20 miles...
