So many people have asked us why we wanted to do this so I thought I'd add a post...
First of all we are raising funds for Professor Robert Winston's charity, Women for Women.

Funds raised by the charity will support women scientists and clinicians - empowering more women to lead in this field. They will specialise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions, which cause cancer, miscarriage, infertility and genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis or muscular dystrophy. Their fundamental aim is to improve women's ongoing good health throughout their lives and to ensure that more women have a normal pregnancy with a healthy baby.
As for why we wanted to get involved well, we're both up for a challenge and keen to get fit but most of all we both want to support and highlight the great work of this charity.
Val was particularly interested in the work the charity do with regard to helping babies born with problems. Her little grandaughter Nicole was born nearly 2 months premature and weighed just three pounds, five ounces. Thanks to the care she got Nicole is a perfectly healthy 2 year old.
As for me, I'm particularly interested in the work the the charity funds with regard to stem cell research. My Mum has Multiple Sclerosis and my Dad, both grandfathers, 3 aunts and an uncle all suffer from diabetes. I really hope that the money raised from the trip will go towards better, more effective treatment and finding a cure for both.
There you have it - please sponsor us and help us raise money for a really good cause!
