Thank you very much for visiting our latest cycling blog.
Yes, it's official - from the 18th to the 27nd of November 2011 we'll be taking part in our 3rd charity cycling event. We'll be joining around 100 other women in Professor Robert Winston's 11th women-only cycling challenge where we'll be cycling a whopping 400km (phew
!!!) across Vietnam & Cambodia to raise money for the Women for Women charity.
Speaking from past experience (Cuba and China), we can assure you this is not a holiday, its a grueling cycle ride and we can only participate if we manage to raise the required sponsorship (£6200 between us by September 2011 - ten weeks before the trip - or we'll forfeit our places).
So why are we doing it AGAIN? Simple really, it will raise funds for a really great charity. By taking part in the challenge, we'll be raising vital funds raised for Genesis Research Trust to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating and distressing conditions such as premature birth, miscarriage, cancer, genetic diseases and brain damage.
We know it's going to be tough but... we'll put in all the training (and document all the highs and lows here on the Blog) so that we are ready and with your help we can raise money for a really great cause!!!
Any and all support would be much appreciated!!!
We've set up our Just Giving Page and if you'd like to sponsor us that way, that would be great!!! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: the charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer they will ensure that Gift Aid is added to every eligible donation at no additional cost to you.
Go on, sponsor us - you know you want to
!!!
